I can't seem to get enough of this song today.

A Fine Frenzy - Electric Twist
This is such a fun and quirky song! It reminds me that: I love still being a kid at heart. It makes me want: red hair, a pony, a hula hoop, dimples, a white room with buckets of paint, and a voice like that.

Iron and Wine
I'll admit, I didn't appreciate Sam Beam's music until recently. Sometimes though, we're just not ready to accept what a song has to offer until we've been through more. Or tastes just change, but that's so literal.

new item on my wishlist: renovated cottage in the middle of the forest
My friend Timothy sent me this article:
This cottage is absolutely adorable! It would be perfect if it had running water. This looks like such a nice location for a weekend of reading and writing. At some point in my life, I hope to find my own building to re-imagine and I hope it is at least half as charming. Overall, it may be a little too girly for my taste, but I'd still buy something like this in a heartbeat.

Street Performers
I would love to take some time just travelling around the country meeting and listening to street performers...hearing their stories and their music.

OneRepublic - All the Right Moves
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrOeGCJdZe4
This is track #3 of a summer playlist I created at the beginning of May. The songs on my ipod have become like a timeline of my life, associated with events and experiences. I also LOVE that the video is a masquerade ball. It's a great visual representation of the masks we sometimes put on for even those closest to us.

Florence + the Machine - Heavy in Your Arms
New song from Florence + the Machine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RLgFs5bB80
This song was just released on the Eclipse soundtrack. I haven't had a chance to listen to the rest of the tracks because of this. The drums move you along and the lyrics are wonderfully intricate. In keeping with Florence's traditional sound, it is very dramatic. Her voice carries such emotion! The song's chorus is almost haunting, in a demanding way. Sometimes subtle doesn't convey a feeling properly and Florence + the Machine is anything but subtle. Their music gives you permission to feel (for at least a few minutes) as if what you're experiencing is center stage and worth that much emotion.
Florence + the Machine certainly deserves more recognition for its innovative sound than Lady Gaga's over-mixed dance party drivel.
