"Brandi Carlile saved my daughters from Disney"

One of my favorite paste articles: http://www.pastemagazine.com/high_gravity/2009/05/brandi-carlile-saved-my-daughters-from-disney.html
Parents have more of an influence over their children's music than they realize. Perhaps they should be introducing the younger generations to some solid, unique artists rather than just limiting the mainstream songs. This article gives me hope.

Perfect for relaxing after a rough day. I would like to have this song's temperament in trying situations.

Sabotage - Beastie Boys

This is my theme song for the day. Bring it on Organizational Behavior group. I listened to this on repeat as I typed up our psychological contract. Thank you, Beastie Boys. for providing me with a wonderfully passive agressive musical outlet.

Mumford & Sons

These songs remind me of the winter, give me hope for this summer, and make me want to join a travelling folk band. His voice is not pretty, but it has such conviction! I'd love to see these guys perform live in a library somewhere.

The 5.75 Questions You've Been Avoiding:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOFkKDjpzcE

I came across this video a little more than halfway through the spring semester. I reallllly needed to ask myself these questions. I was concentrating so much on "college" that I lost sight of the fact that a degree was not the end goal. A degree is merely the avenue I've chosen as the first step toward my lifelong goals. Sometimes I do feel like I gave up my artistic dreams in favor of practicality and security, but truly, I just chose to not pursue those dreams as a career. They are still absolutely a part of who I am and I hope that I am mindful to keep a balance between responsibility and creativity as I move forward.
